Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
